England defeat Pakistan in ODI Series decider

A nasty moment for Paul Collingwood as he struggles to remember if he is supposed to take the catch or not. At least that is what Ijaz Butt probably thinks. Heard it in the bookies he did.

England has defeated Pakistan in the deciding cricket ODI at the Rose Bowl by 121 runs with 13 overs to spare.

In amongst all the claims of match fixing, spot fixing and administrators generally slagging each other off in the media, all the evidence suggests that a game of cricket has taken place in Hampshire and England is the winner of the match and the series.

Reports are sketchy but it appears Eoin Morgan scored 107 not out to help get England to 256. Pakistan got off to a flyer in reply but after openers Kamran Akmal (41) Mohammad Hafeez (29) went there was not much resistance.

Stuart Broad and Graeme Swann got three wickets each. At the time of going to print the stewards siren has not sounded and at this stage there will not be an enquiry into the running of this race.

Newswarped recommends that the Ijaz Butt should not be asked what he thinks until the Pakistan team are safely on the plane home.
