Joaquin Phoenix documentary I’m Still Here debuts at Venice Film Festival – video

Joaquin Phoenix lights up after a particularly harrowing water taxi ride in Venice. no doubt too he is stressed about adjusting to life after his beard.

Actor Joaquin Phoenix has turned up in Italy for the screening at the Venice Film Festival of brother-in-law Casey Affleck’s documentary I’m Still Here about Joaquin’s fledgling Hip-hop career.

Having spent the last two years writing new chapters in the dictionary meaning of ‘bizarre’, Phoenix has turned up minus his beard. He has obviously got sick of being mistaken for a member of ZZ Top.

Just in case you don’t want to sit through watching talent flush itself down the toilet, Newswarped can let you in on the secret that Joaquin doesn’t make it as a Rap star.

Apparently his winning strategy of putting on weight and growing a wild beard did not go down too well with mega producer Sean Combs.

If readers find the whole ‘is it a hoax’ thing too tedious then there is a strange side-show brewing around Casey Affleck whose directorial debut has been clouded by accusations of sexual harrassment by a Producer and Cinematographer involved in the project.

Imagine a family gathering of the Affleck, Phoenix clan. It would probably end up being a kind of arthouse twilight zone sort of thing. Perfect for a documentary really.
