US plans $60 billion arms sale to Saudi Arabia

Hey guys anyone got any idea which way to Saudi Arabia? Maybe we should cut out the middle man and go and bomb the Iranians?

The Obama administration is about to notify Congress of plans to sell $60 billion of military equipment to Saudi Arabia according to an anonymous defense official.

The official, quoted on CNN says that the “enormous” deal ” is the largest of its kind in history.”

Congress would have to approve the sale. But they are hardly likely to turn down such serious dosh from the Saudi’s to help prop up the massive US military-industrial complex.

The proposed package includes 84 F-15/SA fighter aircraft; 70 Apache helicopters, 72 Black Hawk helicopters, and 36 AH-6 Little Bird helicopters. A number of assorted bombs and missiles are also in the deal, and some advanced targeting technology.

Newswarped doesn’t want to be disrespectful to those who were victims of the 9/11 attacks, but we would like to point out that the last time a whole bunch of Saudi Arabians got together with planes it didn’t end well for America.

The Saudi arms deal is part of the wider US strategy of countering the growing threat of Iran by selling war toys to neighbouring countries who are happy to point the weapons in any direction the Americans tell them to.
