Robbie Deans signs with ARU for two more years

Wallabies coach Robbie Deans is set to sign a two year contract extention with the Australain Rugby Union before Septembers Rugby World Cup in New Zealand.

ARU Chief Executive John O’Neill has approved a contract extension for the coach he brought in to restore Australian rugby pride after the 2007 World Cup.

Deans has only managed to have a win rate of little over 50 percent in his three seasons in charge, but has won over the players and has always had freinds in high places at the ARU.

Victories over South Africa in Bloemfontein, the All Blacks in Hong Kong and France in Paris last year seem to have cemented his position with the team.

O’Neill managed to convince Deans to switch to the oher side of the Tasman Sea after the New Zealander was overlooked for the All Blacks coaching position following the 2007 World Cup.
