Henjak sacked as Broncos coach

Ivan Henjak has been sacked as coach of the NRL rugby league side Briabane Broncos only three weeks out from the start of the season.

He now has the dubious honour of being one of the few NRL coaches ever sacked on the eve of a new season.

Henjack was sacked by Broncos management today and his assistant Anthony Griffin has taken charge immediately.

The Broncos are due to hold a press conference where they will utter all the usual tripe about going in fresh directions and thanking Henjack for his contribution to the club.

Henjack has been on borrowed time for a while and his removal will increase speculation about a possible return of super coach, Wayne Bennett.
