NRL super-coach Wayne Bennett leaving St George

The famous Wayne Bennett smile. He is not going to get a toothpaste endorsement contract anytime soon. We don't know which club he will coach next year, but we do know that he will say bugger-all to the media.

Wayne Bennett, the most successful coach in the NRL is announcing today that he is leaving the St George Illawarra club at the end of the current National Rugby League season.

Bennett is believed to have informed Dragons chief executive Peter Doust of his decision, and is expected to endorse assistant coach Steve Price as the man to fill his position next year.

The seven-time premiership winning coach has yet to announce which club he will coach next season, but Brisbane and Newcastle are the front runners at the moment.
