Kurtley Beale leaving Waratahs for Melbourne Rebels

Anything Benji can do I can do better. I am such a Rebel. A rich Rebel too.

Australian Rugby star Kurtley Beale is to announce tomorrow that he has signed to play for the Melbourne Rebels in next seasons Super Rugby competition.

It is understood that the Rebels lured Beale from Sydney to Melbourne with a two year financial offer he could not refuse, including lucrative third party deals. Newswarped has never heard of an average third party deal.

Beale was a finalist for the International Rugby Board’s player of the year last season and has had five seasons with the New South Wales Waratahs.

The Melbourne Rebels seem to be on a never ending spending spree. It shows they have deep pockets and a desire to not just make up the numbers in Super Rugby.

The Australian Rugby Union can breath a little easier now that one of their star Wallabies is not jumping ship to the rugby league ranks. If there was not a Rugby World Cup on offer at the end of the year then it might have been a different story.
