NRL Betting Scandal woman identified

Mystery woman identified. Now she faces some awkward questions about why she suddenly decided to put $1000 on an unlikely penalty goal first score option.

The New Zealand woman wanted for questioning in the NRL betting scandal investigation has been identified.

The woman attempted to place a bet for $1000 for a penalty goal first score option in the Cowboys v Bulldogs match in August last year, that is under investigation.

New Zealand police have already interviewed the woman and she is now expected to be questioned by Australian police in the next few days.

It seems clear that she was placing the bet on behalf of someone else. Just who that ‘someone’ else is will be the key piece of the jigsaw that the Ausiie investigators will want to know.

It is possible that more names might be added to the list of those involved in the betting scam. Getting the info out of the woman might be another matter.
