A-League: Pantelis signs with Wellington Phoenix

Yeah he looks ok in red, but not as good as he will look in blackand yellow. Hopefully he doesn't forget to bring his pace with him on the plane from Adelaide.

A-League side Wellington Phoenix have signed Adelaide United vice-captain Lucas Pantelis on a two year contract.

Pantelis, 29, is a nippy left-sided midfielder who can also play striker. He is seen as a replacement for teenager Marco Rojas who turned his back on the Phoenix at the end of last season and took the dollars on offer from Melbourne Victory.

Phoenix coach Ricki Herbert said, “Lucas is a balanced, quick, left-sided player who has played a major role at a successful club.”

“We have been talking to him for a while and it is great to get the deal over the line.”

Pantelis is one of the smaller players in the league at 1.68m tall and weighing 68kg, he has played 101 matches in five seasons with Adelaide and scored 14 goals.
