Australian soldier reported killed in Afghanistan

how many more need to die before the Aussie soldiers are heading home instead of out on patrol?

An Australian soldier has reportedly been killed in a roadside bomb attack in Afghanistan according to Defence Ministry sources.

Defence Force chief Air Chief Marshal Angus Houston and the Defence Minister Stephen Smith will address the media about the incident shortly.

All that the defence spokespeople are saying for now is that “Australian soldiers were involved in an incident in Afghanistan and the families of those soldiers were being informed.”

It was reported last night that a roadside bomb attack in Eastern Afghanistan had killed four soldiers in the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force.

“Four International Security Assistance Force service members died following an improvised explosive device attack in eastern Afghanistan today,” ISAF said.

Twenty-three Australian soldiers have been killed in Afghanistan since 2002.
