Barcelona win through to Champions League final

Happy chaps at the Camp Nou.

Barcelona have won their ChampionsLeague semi-final against Real Madrid, with a 1-1 draw (3-1 aggregate) in the second leg at the Camp Nou.

With a 2-0 lead on the first leg, Barcelona were always in the box seat. A solid defensive effort was all it was going to take to earn a place in the Wembley final, and that is what they produced.

Barcelona played their classical passing game and dominated 65% of possession with Real Madrid unable to prise the ball off them for long periods.

Pedro Rodriguez scored for Barcain the 54th minute before Angel Di Maria found Marcelo with a short pass for Madrid’s equalizer 10 minutes later. But the 0-2 first leg deficit was too bigger mountain to climb for Real Madrid.

Comments

  1. Barcelona was superior to Real in all departments; they played their beautiful passing game and could have scored two more goals at least. The Catalans definitely deserve to play the Champions League final. Football wins again!
