Don Gorske eats 25,000 Big Mac’s

Look it's Don Gorske, and he is holding a Big Mac. Well ain't that the darndest thing.

Don Gorske a retired prison guard from Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, ate his 25,000th Big Mac yesterday. It has taken him , 39 years to reach the milestone.

Gorske, 59, who has already broken the Guiness World Record 2,000 Big Mac’s ago, was honoured at a ceremony at a McDonald’s in Fond du Lac.

“I plan on eating Big Macs until I die,” he said. “I have no intentions of changing. It’s still my favourite food. Nothing has changed in 39 years. I look forward to it every day.”

The sign beneath the golden arches read “Congrats Don Gorske 25000 Big Macs”.

Before he ate No. 25,000, he showed dozens of onlookers many of the different styles of cartons he has collected over the years and other Big Mac-related stories.

There is no word on how many onlookers went the distance on the carton stories and Big Mac anecdotes.

Gorske, who made an appearance in the 2004 documentary Super Size Me, does not have the typical fast food physique. Being trim he puts down to regular exercise and being “hyperactive”.

Gorske’s bought his first Big Mac on 17th May 1972, and has been munching through a couple a day ever since.

Gorske said he normally buys six on Monday and eight on Thursday and freezes or refrigerates them and warms them when he wants to eat them, so he doesn’t have to run to the restaurant all the time.

“I really do enjoy every Big Mac,” he said.

His wife Mary said, “when I have to put them in a blender, it’s over.”
