Tyler Hamilton says Lance Armstrong took EPO

Yeah I did drugs and I saw Lance taking drugs too. He was siting next to the green rabbit and he passed the needle to Elvis Presley.

Tyler Hamilton, a former teammate of cyclist Lance Armstrong in the US Postal cycling team has said the seven-time Tour de France winner used the performance-enhancing drug EPO.

Hamilton says that both he and Armstrong used EPO during the 1999 Tour de France.

“I saw [EPO] in his refrigerator. … I saw him inject it more than one time,” Hamilton told the CBS programme 60 Minutes, “like we all did. Like I did, many, many times.”

Lance Armstrong is still adamant that he has never taken performance enhancing drugs. His defence is always that he has never failed a drugs test.

Tyler Hamilton himself served a two-year ban for blood-doping from 2005-2007.

Newswarped is not entirely convinced y the allegations. Like Floyd Landis last year, the claims against Armstrong are coming from confirmed drug cheats.

Until there is concrete evidence – which is probably unlkely to happen – Armstrongs position as the greatest road cyclist remains intact.

I guess we could call him the greatest cyclist never to have failed a drug test.
