Angelina Jolie to visit Syrian refugees

At the end of the day helping people in need has got to be more rewarding than an Academy Award.

Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie, is heading to Turkey this week to visit Syrian refugees who have fled from the Assad governments crackdown on civil unrest.

The Turkish Foreign Ministry has announced that Jolie wil be visiting in her capacity as a goodwill ambassador for the United Nations’ refugee agency.

Angelina Jolie is expected to arrive in Istanbul on Friday and head for the refugee camp at Hatay.

Nearly 10,000 Syrians have fled across the border to Turkey to escape violence, mainly from the military offensive in the Jisr al-Shugur area.

Angelina Jolie has been a UN goodwill ambassador for over 10 years. In that time she has visited more than 20 countries to highlight the plight of refugees.
