Tsonga upsets Federer to make Wimbledon semi’s

Jo-Wilfried Tsonga looking mildly happy following his defeat of Roger Federer.

Jo-Wilfried Tsonga has made a superb comeback from two sets down to beat Roger Federer and earn his first Wimbledon semi-final spot where he will face Novak Djokovic.

Federer had never lost from two sets ahead at a Grand Slam, but went down 3-6 6-7 (3-7) 6-4 6-4 6-4 in the biggest upset of the tournament mens draw.

Federer took a second-set tie-break in style, but Tsonga took the next two sets with a break in each.

The 12th seed broke in the first game of the final set before serving out the match.

Newswarped confesses to being a Federer fan, so this is not good news but Tsonga deserves his victory.

That is the thing about the French, they can turn on a world beating performance out of the blue then go back to being ordinary just as quickly.
