Helicopter crash in Sydney – 2 dead

The Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter helped located the wreckage.

Two people have died in a helicopter crash on Sydney’s north shore this morning police say.

A resident said “A helicopter was more or less circling for a while,
I thought they were looking for someone for a while and then I heard a bit of a crash … as though it had hit the top of a tree.”

Police say the Bell 206 helicopter crashed in bushland near Kissing Point Road, South Turramurra about 9.15am today.

Police are still trying to confirm how many people were on board.

Rescue crews are making their way through the bushland to reach the crash site.

Crash site still taken from Channel 7 footage
