Sonny Bill Williams to stay with NZ rugby

Sonny Bill Williams is staying in NZ to play rugby. The things on his hands? They are just there to keep his fingers warm.

Sonny Bill Williams has confirmed he’ll stay with rugby in New Zealand for at least another year, and a three-way race is now expected for his signature for Super Rugby.

He must decide between the Blues, Chiefs and Crusaders as his Super Rugby franchise.

The All Blacks midfielder said when he initially signed with the NZRU he had no intention of staying beyond 2011.

Williams said the amount of support he’s had is humbling and it was one of the reasons for sticking around.

He hopes to make a decision on his franchise future before the World Cup.
