Thousands welcome Prince William and Catherine to Canada

Hello Canada!! greetings from Mother England.

Prince William and Catherine Middleton have arrived in Canada for their first official trip abroad.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge headed straight to the National War Memorial after landing in Canadian military plane at Ottawa’s international airport.

They met Prime Minister Stephen Harper and laid a wreath at the Memorial in front of thousands of onlookers.

After the ceremony William and Kate walked over to the barricades and shook hands and talked with members of the crowd.

Later, the royals were scheduled to attend an official welcome followed by a barbecue for young people.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will stay in Canada for nine days, during which time they will take part in Canada Day celebrations, open the world-renowned Calgary Stampede (maybe they should hold a media stampede as well) and hand out flags to new Canadians at a citizenship ceremony among other things before flying to Los Angeles on 8th July.

There they will host a gala dinner to introduce up-and-coming British film talent to Hollywood executives.
