William and Kate do Hollywood

William and Kate looking every bit the part of Hollywood celebrities arrive at the gala dinner in Los Angeles.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have done the Hollywood thing, mingling with stars at a dinner in Los Angeles in the final stages of their North American tour.

The dinner held at the Belasco theatre was a Bafta showcase of up and coming British film industry talent.

Event staff were decked out in bowler hats and Union flag-inspired outfits to add a British feel to the $25,000 a head reception.

Prince William and Kate Middleton sat opposite Barbra Streisand and Nicole Kidman at the dinner which included bite size fish and chips.

Earlier, Prince William did what royals do best and scored four goals at a charity polo match. This seems to be the standard Windsor party trick. Charles did it for years and William and Harry seem to be just as good.

The polo match at the Santa Barbara Polo & Racquet Club raised millions of dollars for charity. Guests paid between $400 and $4,000 for the privilege of watching the prince, who helped his side to victory wearing the number 4 jersey.

Ok so four goals for the prince along with the other four stuff sounds about as realistic as a WWF bout. But then again if it is for charity that is cool.

Newswarped hopes that William and Kate are enjoying the positive press coverage they are getting in the US media. Don’t worry my celebrity royal friends the British tabloids are eagerly awaiting your return.

Newswarped media analysis see’s us slipping into the backlash stage. After massive over the top coverage from the media they will now start saying how over exposed the royals are – especially the Middleton’s – and negative stories will flow.

Mainstream media are almost as predictable as politicians but not quite as boring.
